Time for a change

Friends,

It has been two years since the Northeast Oddball Knitters Group was founded, and it is time for me to step down from the organizing. Since our inception, we have completed 66 worsted weight blankets and 54 DK weight blankets - and there is no end in sight!

The fantastic MotherHenKnits and hamham have agreed to also take over the DK blanket side of our group, for as long as we all want to continue making the wonderful little treasures.

For the time being, I am happy to continue to collect the finished DK weight blankets and keep bringing them to the CHOP Special Delivery Unit, but if someone else wants to bring them elsewhere that would be terrific, too.

I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your creativity, dedication, hard work, dollars spent on supplies and postage, and countless hours spent knitting and crocheting these little oddball tokens of love. They mean so very much to all of the recipients.

For now, I will continue to work on those blankets that are still in circulation, and will help out with knitting when I can. And I’ll continue to hound those who are holding onto our blankets, until they all come home!

March DK Blanket Madness!

Hi there, Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather! Much like March Madness for basketball, or Malabrigo Madness for you junkies, we are having DK blanket madness. There are four, count 'em, four new DK weight blankets that are ready to start circulating.

My goal is to make sure that each of the states in our region is represented in at least one blanket. We've done a few in the past, and here are four more. As noted in our sidebar, all of our states have official and unofficial mottoes. Our new blankets are named for Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, and Maryland.

Hi Northeasters!

Long time, no blog, eh? Finally have some updates on blanket progress, and four blankets have moved over to our completed blanket blog.

Please help me welcome RhondaH and ramblinroo, two new members of our group!

Also, please help me thank gmmarton for all of her efforts in coordinating the worsted weight blankets. Due to an increase in her work commitments, gmmarton is stepping down from organizing blankets, but will continue to knit and crochet with us. We will miss her as official worsted weight team cheerleader, and are greatly appreciative for all that she has done.

Thankfully, motherhenknits has graciously volunteered to maintain our tracking spreadsheet for the worsted weight blankets, as well as keep that blog up to date. Others will be assisting with coordinating and delivering our worsted weight blankets, and we'll acknowledge those people as soon as they are confirmed.

Thanks to everyone who continues to devote their time, energy, and valuable resources to this project, and a special thanks to those who have offered to pitch in during this transition.
