Northeast State Mottoes and Nicknames

I found a list of state mottoes and nicknames (the italicized one is the officially adopted nickname) that should give us loads of ideas for future blankets:

Connecticut - "He who transplanted sustains", Constitution State, Land of Steady Habits, Nutmeg State, Provisions State

Delaware - "Liberty and Independence", Diamond State, First State, Land of Tax-Free Shopping (my personal favorite, it's on all of the signs when you drive into DE ), Small Wonder, Blue Hen State or the Blue Hen's Chicken

Maryland - "Manly deeds, womanly words", Cockade State, Free State, Monumental State, Old Line State, Terrapin State, Crab State
