Happy Holidays, Everyone! Here in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, we got about 18" of snow. Fortunately we are well supplied (thanks to Mr. Spikey running out to the market when we got back to town Friday night), have power, and heat, and many other things for which we are most appreciative.
Hope everyone is safe and warm, and can have a relaxing Sunday before this busy holiday week.
Please help me welcomejoie919, our newest member, who will be jumping in on Earth and Sky.
Two new blankets were started by angie19130, Nightingale's Song and Candyland. Both still have open spots for knitters. I also started two new blankets on my trip, and will name them and open them up to volunteers soon.
Thanks to everyone for all of your time, materials, and effort this past year! The CHOP SDU is so grateful for our blankets. I wish all of you the best for a very happy, healthy, knitting-and-crocheting-filled 2010.
Fondly, Spikey

Lots of great progress made on our DK weight blankets since the last update - and 25 blankets were brought to CHOP. I continue to be so amazed by the work done by our dedicated group, and the love that we are spreading throughout the Northeast.
Please help me welcome Beepr and angie19130, two new members who are churning out their sections with great speed and enthusiasm, and are always eager to help. I hope you spend a warm, safe Thanksgiving with people who make you feel good about yourself, and the wonderful way in which you dedicate so much of your precious time, energy, and money to helping others.

Where did the Summer go? Sorry for the prolonged absence between posts, but I've been working or away for work every weekend since the middle of August. And am heading out of town again in the morning, but am determined to get this blog updated tonight!
Thanks to everyone for your hard work on our beautiful blankets, and to gmmarton for carrying the load while I've been MIA. Things should slow down quite a bit after this weekend, at least until the new year, so I hope to do a better job of keeping up with our prolific group. There have been lots of new blankets started, and great progress made on the old ones. Updated lists and pics below.

It is hard to believe that our little project has turned one year old! These blankets have brought joy and comfort to so many, all thanks to your hard work and dedication.
And we're not resting on our laurels - or taking any stinkin' summer break! The awesome Northeast Knitting Group continues to come up with great ideas for new blankets.
We've got three new blankets: Seaglass (formerly She Who Is Not Named) being started by justbeth, Lemonade started by sugarmagknowya, and Lovely started by Spikey.
Well done, team! You should all feel proud of what your donation of time, materials, and love has created.
